Terms of Use

Last updated: 18 August 2026

1. About Wid

Wid is an early-access matchmaking and introduction service for adults seeking a serious relationship with marriage as the goal.

These Terms of Use govern your access to Wid’s website, application process, account area, matching service, and introduction features.

In these terms, “Wid”, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to the Wid service. “You” means the person creating or using a Wid account.

2. Accepting these terms

By creating an account, submitting an application, or continuing to use Wid, you agree to these Terms of Use and acknowledge the Privacy Notice.

If you do not agree, do not create or continue using an account.

3. Who may use Wid

You may use Wid only if:

  • you are at least 20 years old;
  • you are legally able to enter into these terms;
  • you are seeking a serious relationship with marriage as the goal;
  • the information you provide is your own;
  • you have not been prohibited from using the service; and
  • your use of Wid is lawful in your location.

Wid may refuse or restrict access where these requirements are not met.

4. Your account

You may create only an account for yourself. You must not create an account for another person, impersonate someone, or allow another person to use your account.

You are responsible for:

  • providing an email address you control;
  • protecting your email account, sign-in links, and devices;
  • keeping your information reasonably accurate and current; and
  • notifying Wid if you suspect unauthorised access.

You must not attempt to access another applicant’s account or any staff-only area.

5. Applications and information

You agree to provide information honestly and in good faith.

You may save an incomplete application as a draft. Wid may ask you to complete newly added or previously unanswered questions before continuing with an introduction or another part of the service.

You may review and update information through the account features made available to you.

Providing false, misleading, abusive, unlawful, or impersonated information may result in restriction or removal from the service.

6. Matching choices

Wid provides the matching choices described on the consent page.

Participate in Early Manual Matching

This choice permits authorised Wid staff to review your profile for current early manual matching and potential introductions, subject to your consent and privacy selections.

Private Manual Matching & Future App Matching

This choice stores your selection and profile for the private or future matching service described on the consent page.

Your selected mode does not guarantee a match, response, or introduction.

7. Consent and privacy settings

You are responsible for reviewing and selecting the consent and privacy options presented to you.

If Wid updates its consent requirements or adds information needed for matching, you may be asked to complete the missing questions or review updated consent before viewing or continuing an introduction.

Wid handles personal information as described in the Privacy Notice.

8. Manual matching and introductions

Authorised Wid staff may assess applications and compatibility when the applicant has selected a matching mode that permits current manual matching.

Wid decides whether and when to suggest a potential introduction. A suggestion is not a statement that two applicants are compatible, suitable, safe, or likely to form a relationship.

You may accept or decline an introduction. Another applicant may also decline or discontinue an introduction.

Wid does not guarantee:

  • that your application will be reviewed within a particular period;
  • that a suitable applicant will be available;
  • that you will receive a match or introduction;
  • that another applicant will respond or consent; or
  • that an introduction will lead to communication, a relationship, engagement, or marriage.

9. Respectful and lawful conduct

You must treat applicants and Wid staff respectfully.

You must not:

  • harass, threaten, intimidate, pressure, or discriminate against another person;
  • use Wid for casual, deceptive, exploitative, commercial, or unlawful purposes;
  • misrepresent your identity, circumstances, intentions, or relationship status;
  • submit information belonging to another person without authority;
  • copy, publish, distribute, or misuse another applicant’s information;
  • attempt to bypass privacy, matching, security, or access controls;
  • introduce malicious code, disrupt the service, or test its security without written permission;
  • scrape, extract, sell, or compile applicant or staff information; or
  • use an introduction to send spam, solicit money, or conduct fraud.

Wid may restrict or remove access where conduct presents a risk to applicants, staff, or the service.

10. Personal safety

You are responsible for deciding whether and how to communicate with or meet another applicant.

Use reasonable care before sharing additional information, moving communication outside Wid, sending money, travelling, or meeting in person. Do not send money or financial credentials to another applicant.

Report serious concerns to Wid. Contact the appropriate emergency service or authority where immediate safety is at risk.

Wid does not control another applicant’s conduct and cannot guarantee their identity, statements, intentions, suitability, or safety.

Unless Wid expressly states otherwise, Wid does not conduct criminal, financial, identity, employment, or other formal background checks.

11. Pausing or returning to matching

You may use Privacy & Controls to pause or withdraw from matching.

When paused, your profile is removed from the matching functionality. Your account and previously provided information remain in place.

Where the return option is available, you may request to return to matching. Your return remains subject to the current service, consent, and matching requirements.

12. Deleting your profile

You may request deletion from Privacy & Controls.

After you confirm the request, Wid sends it to the account owner for manual processing. Your account will be deleted within 48–72 hours.

13. Service communications

Wid may contact you about:

  • account access and security;
  • application submission;
  • incomplete or newly required information;
  • consent or privacy updates;
  • potential introductions;
  • service operation and support;
  • privacy or deletion requests; and
  • changes that materially affect your use of Wid.

You are responsible for keeping access to your registered email address.

14. Your content

You retain ownership of the information and text you provide.

You give Wid permission to store, organise, review, display internally, and use that information only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, and administer the service in accordance with your consent and the Privacy Notice.

You confirm that you have the right to provide the information you submit and that doing so does not violate another person’s rights.

15. Wid’s intellectual property

The Wid name, brand, design, interface, software, written materials, and other service content belong to Wid or its licensors.

These terms give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for its intended purpose. They do not transfer ownership of Wid’s intellectual property to you.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, reverse engineer, or commercially exploit the service except where applicable law expressly permits it.

16. Service availability and changes

Wid is an early-access service. Features may change as the service develops.

Wid may correct errors, maintain the service, change or discontinue features, or temporarily restrict access for security or operational reasons.

Wid will take reasonable care when making changes that affect active applications, consent choices, or personal information.

Wid does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.

17. Suspension or removal

Wid may suspend, restrict, or close an account where reasonably necessary because:

  • these terms have been materially breached;
  • information appears fraudulent or impersonated;
  • conduct creates a safety or privacy risk;
  • the service or another account is being misused;
  • access is required to be restricted by law; or
  • continued access could materially harm Wid, an applicant, or another person.

Where appropriate and safe, Wid may provide notice or an opportunity to clarify the issue.

18. Third-party services and links

Wid relies on third-party services for functions such as hosting, authentication, databases, and email delivery.

Wid may also provide links to third-party websites. Those services and websites may have their own terms and privacy practices. Wid is not responsible for third-party content or services outside Wid’s control.

19. Disclaimers

Wid provides a platform for applications, matching review, and possible introductions. Wid does not provide relationship, marital, religious, medical, legal, financial, or psychological advice.

To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided on an “as available” basis. Wid does not promise that:

  • the service will always be available or free from errors;
  • every applicant’s statements are complete or accurate;
  • any applicant is suitable, compatible, safe, or acting in good faith; or
  • use of Wid will produce a particular outcome.

Nothing in these terms excludes rights or protections that cannot lawfully be excluded.

20. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Wid is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from use of the service, an unavailable feature, another applicant’s conduct, or communications or meetings occurring outside Wid.

Wid is not responsible for decisions you or another applicant make in reliance on an application, match suggestion, introduction, message, or off-platform communication.

Nothing in these terms limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.

21. Governing law and disputes

These terms and your use of Wid are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Bahrain, without limiting any mandatory rights that apply to you.

The courts of the Kingdom of Bahrain will have jurisdiction over disputes relating to these terms or the service, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Before starting formal proceedings, you and Wid should first attempt to resolve the issue by contacting the other party and allowing a reasonable opportunity to respond.

22. Changes to these terms

Wid may update these terms when the service, law, or operational requirements change.

The updated terms will display a revised date. If a change materially affects existing users, Wid may provide notice or request acceptance before continued use.

23. General terms

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.

A delay in enforcing a provision is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later.

You may not transfer your rights under these terms to another person. Wid may transfer its rights and responsibilities as part of a lawful transfer of the service.

These terms and the Privacy Notice form the agreement governing your use of Wid.
